Becoming a psychotherapist was as a job I only considered after the U.S. bombed Iraq resulting in refugees moved to Egypt, where I was born and raised and was living at the time. I was wrestling with my emotions, pain and disbelief of what I saw when a transformative conversation with a professor demonstrated how beneficial a person in a therapeutic role could be to help ease another’s suffering. After moving to Canada 12 years ago, I now have more than 13 years of experience working with people in different settings: counseling, consulting, healing circles, psycho-educational groups, dance therapy, embodiment work and workshops.
I enjoy working with many temperaments including HSP (Highly Sensitive people), Indigo adults, empaths and those who believe in the power of change. In seeking greater strength and clarity in my own life, I cultivated disciplined meditation practices that unexpectedly brought distinct, sharpened intuition and compassion.
This spiritual deepening has added layers of healing to my sessions; with a compassionate and non-judgmental attitude, I go into the roots of the situation with my clients, encouraging them to befriend their pain, insecurities and vulnerabilities. These are in fact, the core of their power and gift to the world. My work is my purpose, and I am deeply invested in holding a space for the power of the human soul to unfold. My professional trainings include: Transpersonal psychology, Satir transformational Couple’s and family therapy, DBT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Grieving therapy, Human Sexuality, Leadership Coaching, Divorce and Separation and Attachment theory in Parenting.
Currently along with my private practice, I am adjacent faculty at Adler University teaching masters level future therapists.
As a Jungian oriented therapist, I am passionate about what I do. I have been supporting couples and individuals to live the life they wanted for over 13 years.
